We Four Bears

A site about our family! Mostly or all actually of Josie and Dana. I mean who cares about us anymore anyway?

Big weekend!

Another weekend of firsts! Josie went swimming this weekend. Although it didn't last too long (the water was a bit cold for her), it was totally worth putting her in her swimsuit. Look at her sunbathing with her leg up.
Next pic: nephews having a blast in Grandma and Nonu's pool.

Josie has been walking, a few steps on her own, along
furniture and also pushing her cart. So, our friend Carrie and I took her to get her first pair of shoes. I have always heard that babies shouldn't be in shoes too early because it can have a negative impact on the way their arches develop. Ashley at Stride Rite did say that Josie should be barefoot at home, and only wear her shoes when she is outside. This will help ensure that her arches develop naturally. We learn something more everyday. Anyway, she's pretty cute in her new shoes, which by the way have pink butterflies on them.

Notice how she is standing on her own.
BEE: Why the heck do my paragraphs show up in a long column? It drives me nuts!

First steps....

No picture, I know, very sad. But, Josie has taken her first few steps alone. Tuesday night, mommy and daddy both watched as Josie walked from the kitchen cabinets to mommy, 2 steps not holding onto anything!
Later that night she also walked from daddy's tv tray to the couch, but she always had her hand on something while transferring. Then, yesterday (Wednesday) we were visiting our friend Karen and she took three steps from Karen's couch to mommy. I was being conservative and saying 2 steps, but Karen insists it was really 3 steps. Guess Josie and I will be heading to Stride Rite soon. I can't wait to get her fitted for her first pair of shoes, I just want to see what size she is. Little Josie doesn't have such little feet. They are a good 3/4 inch longer than Avery's feet (at daycare). Avery is 2 weeks older than Josie. Poor Josie, she has inherited mommy's feet. Should help her get balanced though. :)

Mother's Day & Overalls

So, the reason for this post is simply that this is the first time Josie has worn overalls. I took these pictures this morning before work, just after she woke up. I believe these overalls belonged to Gabby, so thank you to Gabby for sharing her clothes. :) Look at the one picture where Josie has one sock on and one off. That's because she doesn't sit still long enough for me to put both socks on at once.

The other picture was taken on Mother's Day. My first Mother's Day was very special. Josie and Alex did a good job to make my first one memorable. Four generations of women pictured, my grandma, mom, me and Josie. (my dad too).
